somehow, doing painting has also improved my drawing? or at least, it's helped me stop feeling so blocked so yippee!!!!

(nikolaus is alois's brother, they're both medic ocs, but i think i was able to not only differentiate them well from each other, but also from the source material)

And not feel like a deep sort of despair about it. Idk. With digital art it just feels like I’m in an endless rat race to get better and I’m losing hard. But with traditional art I just get to kinda fuck around yknow? I can do whatever. It doesn’t matter if it sucks. It’s not job it’s hobby.

Gouache and graphite are like on polar opposite ends of ‘things I’m comfortable with doing’. Like, I was never properly taught how to paint. I just kinda winged it all this time. But I think this turned out pretty good? And I can even like look at this and think ‘I can get better’

I’ve been doing more traditional art lately and man. I think I remember what it’s like to actually enjoy art again like they arent my usual fare, but honestly??? I’ve been having fun so it doesn’t matter.

also dont look at their costumes they go through a redesign like basically every time i draw them bc i can never settle on a proper super suit. that being said, alois's needs to be as tight fitting as possible. for. um. reasons. technically, bc his power involves glowing, he should wear less but...
