An alt measure that looks at lack of access to 14 amenities (a warm house, three meals a day) found 2m children living in “deep material poverty”.

Yet nearly half of them would not have been covered by the official poverty measure!

Any Labour leader will get bad headlines. The right-wing media (not 'the country') will go mad regardless.

And "no-one" voted for Sunak or Truss (their party membership did), that argument was lost.

Exactly this. All these misjudgements blamed on the public are created by media and social media privileging bad faith actors and vested interests. We are all social creatures reliant on our media & culture to interpret what goes on around us.
