I just heard from a from a friend - and I don’t know if it’s true - that companies are being penalized with crazy high taxes by the current admin if they DO NOT succumb to rolling back #DEI initiatives. Does anyone know if there is any truth to this? It would explain why so many are doing it.

Also, NC is actually required in the iCan program at Castaic H. The students choose their track and are automatically assigned career skill courses. Often they don’t even know what the course is until the first day when they show up and I write the name of it on the board. I welcome the challenge ;)

I’m getting this perspective more and more…and I love where it’s going. I expect that DEI will be challenged in the welder track (99% men, not college bound) as they tend to be anti-education. So this approach could absolutely work…a cross comparison of organizations. Brilliant!

Actually I just began reaching out… so I hadn’t thought of this yet! Demonstrating orgs who continue to adopt a DEI model is a great idea!Suddenly I’m exploding with lesson plans. Thank you!!

I’m here! And I need support as well. Teaching a course on Workplace Diversity and need other academics to weigh in on how to keep my course curriculum the same, but staying relevant. #edusky #teachersky following you!!

I’m honestly doing my best to adapt my teachings to the change in narrative. I don’t want to ignore what is happening because my job is to prepare students for their future. But how can we continue when we disagree with so much??

This course has always been one of my favorites, and I’ve commonly had students with conservative backgrounds who challenge the content. In the past I’ve been successful at opening their perspectives. But the business climate has changed. How can we continue our curriculum, but stay relevant?

I see that this platform can provide that. But I can’t seem to get any engagement.

My guess. Is that it’s happened to them more than a few times in their adolescence.

It’s true. So many love to see the Dems squirm and they don’t care about the repercussions of their actions. But soon they will. Some have come around, become grown ups and are appalled looking back at their behavior.
