You’re definitely right. The ethos of the brackets is that there aren’t hard lines. Just trying to find mine I guess.
Will probably keep the Stampede for now. Those effects have been in so many precons that a one-of feels okay. Too many “this would feel bad to play rn” moments though and it’s out!

Maybe it’s about context, like Stampede is cool if you’re casting most of your creatures but less cool if you’re cheesing Scute Swarm. I really like the idea of this language too, but I’m just having a hard time understanding the line

Explain like I’m 5, should I take Overwhelming Stampede out of my tokens deck that’s aiming for bracket 2? But maybe Blossoming Bogbeast is cool because it has to survive a turn cycle?

Undeniable that rock doesn’t reach the heights of culture that it did in the past, but I think if you look at the calendar of a midsized music venue in any city, a rock band you’ve never heard of is packing the room most nights

My token deck’s solution was nothing that puts counters on tokens. Then you can use dice for token quantity with no overly fiddly confusion. I find restrictions fun in general!

I felt the same way about Final Fantasy. Tidus and Yuna from the same precon, for example.

Idk, I’d like to think the beauty of commander is that if you like Gonti you can just play Gonti. But powerful basically equals popular in the EDHrec charts, so you’re probably effectively right.

I think it’s a card in hand, library, or graveyard; spell on the stack; and permanent on the battlefield. My sense is that slightly clunky rules text is worth keeping those distinctions clearer.

Yuna fits right in, in my opinion, while also really feeling like the character. Yuffie doesn’t do either.

Agreed. I haven’t been crazy about the anime-style art in this set. Those cards don’t look like Final Fantasy OR Magic.

Great job putting this vague vibes stuff into words, even if it remains vague and vibey. I thought I would be excited to brew an Aerith deck, but my familiarity with the character has me struggling to get over the dissonance of her hanging with Ajani. Kuja Wizard typal feels okay, though.

I understand the desire to keep it to a single, simple list, but it feels like something commander-specific would be useful. Maybe not even an official part of the system, just a "Are You Sure That's a 2?" list of commanders that have a high floor. Voja, Krenko, Feather, idk
