Original thread from making the sign, and there’s more on mastodon. Last night I made a snap-in holder for cylindrical 18650 battery banks and taped it to the back of my sign with some VHB. Makes changing batteries much easier than just taping them to the back of the sign.

This uses the Sensor Board add-on for the Pixelblaze which contains a microphone and enables patterns to be sound-reactive. @bhencke.bsky.social

Yo dawg I heard you like panels.

The second part showing how the front cover snaps into the bottom cover and the PCB. I knew I wanted the bottom cover to be the primary one, because it covers the battery and is most important. That left little room for the top cover to snap on, so it’s mostly notches for the bottom cover’s tabs.
