🧵The trouble is, the damn thing is going to be SO large that it’s going sow the seeds of its own doom.

13. The point is, we are well past the point where "cut bait" is a sign of leadership. We've screwed up an entire generation of new warships, and "cutting bait" simply means the pipeline is virtually empty for the foreseeable future.

We’re in the same cohort. My upbringing was rural, Catholic, and illiberal but my public (American) school planted seeds. I worry about an unbalanced societies impact on the individual and communities.
