This is my favorite King book. I have the original and uncut editions in both hardcover and paperback. And the cover you posted is the edition I first read in junior high.

‘Salem’s Lot is the scariest vampire book I’ve ever read. The Shining is a different experience than Kubrick’s film and Pet Sematary is straight up horrifying.

Every frame setup, the sound design (oh my the sound design), the gallows humor (“Shots, bitches!!”), the editing, the performances. Excellent. And harrowing. I was shaking when it was over.
