“A Walk in the Woods” — I painted this using Procreate on an iPad. The painting is my attempt at what ArtStation.com calls Environmental Concept Art. I’ve included my original sketch and an early version where I started blocking in colors.

I painted this with Procreate. The house is in Kalamazoo, Michigan. I lived in its attic apartment during the summer of 1976, while I was interning at the Upjohn Company. I have old photos of the house in a box somewhere, but instead, for reference, I used an image I found on Google Street View.

Ink wash. Painted in a drawing class in 2018. The splatters are from a woman painting next to me, who got a little wild with her brush work 😳. I like the effect, though…on my painting, not my clothes ☹️

8x10 inch watercolor on 9x12 inch 140lb Arches cold press paper. Painted in 2020 using QoR watercolors: Nickel Azo Yellow, Quinacridone Gold, Cerulean Blue Chromium, Cobalt Teal, Sap Green, Van Dyke Brown, and Paynes Gray. Also used some Winsor Newton permanent white gouache.

11x14 inch watercolor on 12x16 inch Arches 140 lb. paper. Painted in 2019 using using Winsor Newton Pro watercolors.
Four colors were used:
• Cadmium Scarlet, Hooker's Green — truck, trees
• Payne's Gray — shadows, tires, snow
• Antwerp Blue — sky
