@ai6yr French and non-Carlton English Raleighs are the most common pains in the ass. The only difference between UK/US/Japanese 1" headsets is usually just the crown race diameter.

@ai6yr In the world of 1" threaded, neither headsets, crown races, nor internal diameters are standard. https://www.sheldonbrown.com/cribsheet-headsets.html

@BikingViking I think I've seen that same hawk up in Elysian Park. It's always weird when they get down on the ground and go into chicken mode.

@ai6yr Tadpole trikes are super-squirrely and are good for moving stuff around a factory at 3mph or selling ice cream in the park at the same slow speed. They're pretty useless on the road.

@nrohluap yeah, it wasn't down to metal for long

@ai6yr I rode up the 101 between Ventura and SB back before the path was in, when you had to take every off-ramp, and come back up every on-ramp. Wayyyyy safer than Sunset over there.

@ai6yr People at night are doing 50+. The city bus drivers are known to get into some crazy high-speed leans through there. There is no shoulder. They are coming around blind turns. It's the route from the fancy clubs back to where the rich people live.

@ai6yr I'd ride that any day. 50mph #cycling hell can be found on Sunset near UCLA.

@ai6yr How so? I see a shoulder. You do need to worry about people pulling trailers in situations like that, for sure.
