It’s a problem. At least we still have the chance to outvote them.

Fox News is an expert in paying defamation settlements.

After Cain went on his little tirade, I wish Frost had said “No Will, I’m just pointing out the difference between a noun and an adjective.” It wouldn’t be too difficult for that to be a prepared response, and I’d like to see Cain’s reaction.

This has been going on for at least 60 years. I remember my parents talking about it in the ‘60s. Maybe dates from even before that.

Absolutely. I kept thinking “OMG, what else can go wrong?” But Marty persevered, which is admirable, even if you don’t find the character to be likable.
January 13, 2026 at 6:44 PM
We unfortunately have to face the fact that there are many people who will choose to get violent for innocuous reasons. Marty and Rachel were pushing him pretty hard in the first encounter.
January 13, 2026 at 6:41 PM
Of course, those actions didn’t work out well for either of them in the end, but unintended consequences are a staple of movies.

The farmer was defending his house. It seems realistic that many people would go to great lengths to do that.
January 13, 2026 at 2:52 PM
It got my full attention for the entire 2+ hours, which these days is saying a lot. If you ever get the feeling that your life is out of control, this movie is that multiplied by ten.

The intensity for the dog was because Marty saw thousands of dollars in the owner’s briefcase, and thought that retrieving the dog was his ticket to Japan.

No. It’s impossible to put anybody in jail without support of the executive branch.
January 12, 2026 at 2:10 PM
Some Democrats are calling for that. Without majorities in the House and Senate, shouting will have no effect. Surprising that you haven’t figured that out.
January 12, 2026 at 2:05 PM
Nonsense. Candidates should try to get their message out to the largest possible number of people. It’s not my job to convince people I’m right, so I don’t spend time on X. It is a candidate’s job.
January 12, 2026 at 1:55 PM
If you can get your favorite candidate selected in a Democratic primary, I’ll happily vote for them. If you can’t say the same, you’re essentially a Republican.

Occam’s Razor: He accidentally deleted his own post. But no … these guys go fumbling through life, but in their own minds they are supermen who never make mistakes.

It was always pretty obvious that your old party just wanted to be the jack-booted thugs.

And then Venezuela will nationalize the rebuilt industry, and nobody else in the world will object.
January 10, 2026 at 9:18 PM
Any investment in Venezuela is going to require at least 20 years of military occupation to pay off. Nobody believes that is going to happen, not even Trump. Trump doesn’t have the capacity to evaluate a good investment, not in the past and certainly not now.

I doubt that any company wants to spend a lot of money supporting the commercial real estate industry. At this point, if people are working in the office, it’s because the company thinks they can be more profitable that way.

A lot of jobs have some aspects that can be done remotely, and some aspects that require personal presence. You can talk to people on the phone in regular cars. I doubt that reading documents will be any more comfortable in a robotaxi than in a regular car.

Actually, he has been taking credit for it. When he withdrew the National Guard from Portland and LA, he said that crime was now way down there, and the National Guard would be back if it went up again.
January 9, 2026 at 4:37 AM
That theory has been discredited, I believe, but it gives you an idea of how long crime has been declining.
January 9, 2026 at 4:34 AM
It’s not his win, though. Crime has been going down significantly for the past 40 years, while Trump and the Republicans have been claiming it has been going up. One theory is that Roe v. Wade has been responsible for the decline in crime. /1

What I’m wondering is how anybody who believes this lie can add any value as an employee.
January 8, 2026 at 3:33 PM
Is this real? That’s actually the story they’re using? Trump is stalling to protect the other “Donald Trump”. Maybe there are some pictures of Epstein with Donald Trump.
