To that end, I found Justice Thomas's concurrence on medical care for transgender youth quite illuminating. He argues that many of our so-called "experts" have used bad arguments and substandard science to push experimental therapies on our youth.

A little different take than you’re likely looking for, but I like reading Thomas Sowell. He has such an insightful way of looking at information. For example, “The real minimum wage is zero.” Kind of teaches you to think things through from different angles.
