Psychedelic journeyer, recently awakened mystically, exploring all the realms. Poly(thiestic 😉) Self care is an act of resistance. Blocked keywords: Trump, RFK, maga.
I'm new to spirituality and the craft. My wife is so excited for me that when she learned about Sabbats and the Wheel of the Year, she decided to surprise me with a wheel of the year for Christmas.

No one has ever done anything like this for me.

While I haven't taken them like aspirin (some psychedelics tend to give me dark journeys), they helped me by dismantling some of the mental structure that trauma built. This process is intrusive, disturbing, difficult, and was, ultimately, the path to much freedom.
Do we actually have the tools to deal with the can of worms psychedelics will likely open when taken as regularly as aspirin?

I am at the age my father was when he developed "late onset paranoid schizophrenia." He heard voices, thought people were trying to kill him, and believed in powers that don't exist. He invented an engine that, actually could NOT run on plain water.

I'm about 90 days into my spiritual awakening.

Convergence or divergence ... or neither.?Never was a fan of Faithfull. Proudly disbelieved in everything magical, witchy, spiritual. Have a spiritual awakening and suddenly a Faithfull song makes me wanna dance.

Always hated dancing.
"Shall I see tonight sister, bathed in magic greet
Shall we meet on the hilltop where the two roads meet.
We will form the circle, hold our hands and chant,
Let the great one know what it is we want."

I have no idea how this ended up in my feed, but it's interesting that some Christian thinkers are seeing the decline and fall of the Christian Empire.

"Magickal work requires a certain amount of comfort with vulnerability. Vulnerability and intimacy are often linked, and magickal work, whether undertaken alone or in a group, is self-revelatory and intimate."

As my spiritual awakening deepens and broadens, who I am is changing. My identity is changing. It feels so very intimate, and so very scary.

Magick is not the rejection of the mundane; it is the expansion of our understanding of the mundane.

I'm on the wrong BSKY account to be fixating on this post.
when I was doing teacher training at extremely-conservative-BYU I was explicitly taught how to do all these tricks w/posture, breath, energy etc to control my classroom & this week reels has been showing me dominatrix lessons & anyway that’s how I learned I’ve been running my class like a dominatrix

One of the best horror writers ever. Haunting of Hill House and We have Always Lived in the Castle are so subtle, so quiet, and so damned horrifying.
Shirley Jackson: A Rather Haunted Life by Ruth Franklin
In her biography, Franklin envisions Jackson as “belonging to the great tradition of Hawthorne, Poe and James” & her invigorating portrait stands as the definitive biography of a generational avatar and an American literary genius

Munch was so much more than "Scream." Terrified of the insanity that ran through his family, "sexually depressed," and traumatized by an early affair, his life was derailed but his art thrived. This, "Love and Pain (Vampire)" and "Ashes" show that art is often found between talent and constraint.

Hey y’all! Are you, like me, super annoyed at Apple’s iOS 26.1 update and its awful Liquid Glass crap? Are you wishing your phone could just go back to looking like it did 48 hours ago instead of being forced to adopt the phone aesthetic equivalent of a Donald Trump bathroom? Then check this thread!

Today a very close friend told her sister about a small ritual I had done. The sister, who practices witchcraft, was very surprised that an older man would be taking up witchcraft. When I was told how surprised she was, my first thought was, "Not half as surprised as me."
