Our new 4th edition SMART Recovery handbook arrived today.

The first thing I noticed is that the Family and Friends programme is promoted in the very first subtitle! Harm reduction is also included, family groups have known it's value for years.

Dave and Tina spent a great afternoon at Birmingham University Medical School talking about the ITC approach for families. They made us very welcome and have invited us back to talk to their wellbeing team staff. 💜💜

Today we will be finishing off the "Understanding" section of the ITC wheel by discussing our version of the stages of change model.

What differences can you notice when compared with the versions delivered by recovery services?

6pm UK Time everyone welcome.

9 out of 10 people don't return to their second 12 Step meeting. That's why people need multiple pathways to recovery.

Running unfunded open support groups, means we don't need to collect anyone's personal information.

Every man and his dog are aware that our loved one's are struggling with AODs, years before the treatment services eventually show up.

This is the latest Invitation To Change approach (ITC) developed in the 2020s by the CMCFFC in New York.

We are currently the only support group in the UK delivering this to families. Every one welcome, including addiction professionals.

Here's a video we did with our local Healthwatch team, unfortunately it wasn't shared by Healthwatch UK.

This year we plan to create some video content ourselves. 💜💜

Hi, we're new to Bluesky and looking forward to 2025.

We're on a mission to move the support available for families who have a loved one struggling with Alcohol and other drugs (AODs) out of the 1930s. Everything we do is free. 💜💜
