I guess we forget that Reaganomics and that whole yuppie period was partially a response to the oil crisis. Now compare that to a drug dependency (oil, oil money) and it might show us a path out, except the dealers have practically been owning us for a while now.

I mean, if you’re not being sarcastic here, you’re literally supporting internationally recognized war crimes. A little empathy with the oppressed wouldn’t hurt.

It just seems to me the logic espoused here is to not empathize and to bomb anyways. I dunno if that’s better or worse than Kissinger. My go-to is to assume everybody is a thinking-feeling person worthy of dignity even if their actions aren’t. I prefer to judge actions. People are works-in-progress.

I never said he wasn’t. I’m not so black and white about everything, more-so yin-yang. He was a horrible war criminal. My family suffered in Bangladesh due to his policy. But he was an evil genius, and one of the only good takeaways from him was this method of thinking. Do with it as you will.
