If a Russian person said that in active conversation, that’s different. Same as if I’m talking to an American. That’s fine, I’m engaged in dialogue. But what’s happening here is the digital version of Americans flying to Greenland and shouting how bad they feel from a soap box.

The rest of the world already know some Americans didn’t vote for Trump. Flooding Reddit communities with “sorry” doesn’t make anyone else feel better about having their economy and sovereignty threatened. It’s only helping to ease the guilt of the person saying it.
