There shouldn't be a problem with befriending folks with differing political views. I know for a fact that not all Republicans are Dixie-lovers, KKK clansmen, and *GASP* Law Enforcement!!!
We could always show tolerance and not be viewed as intolerant to anyone, not all of them want you dead.

Unpopular take on this platform, but I think it's good that Kamala Harris is making a targeted pitch to anti-Trump Republicans and former Republicans. She's made no concessions and is trying to win a general election. Swing voters were key for Biden in 2020. I don't see any downside.
