Dental work was identified on teeth as old as those from 14,000 years ago? According to the American Journal of Biological Anthropology, two incisors dated around 13,000 years ago discovered in Italy had their centers hollowed out with rocks and packed with organic materials and an oil derivative (a substance now used in the modern day for road work) in what is considered an early example of dental work! The oldest recorded example of dental work is on a molar dated around 14,000 years ago! No evidence of any filling material was found on that tooth, but the center was removed in what is believed to be an early attempt at decay removal.
