The other key source of inspiration that I only mentioned on the KS page was the actual Peasant’s Revolt of 1381.

Although I’m no historian and wanted to make a fantasy game.

The answer is two-parts; a desire to lean heavily into a cyclical legacy design (inspired by Oath) and most importantly, a healthy dose of cynicism/despair at the political environment when I was writing it.
