Trump keeps floating this idea to get rid of income tax and run with tarriffs only.
You can’t base the federal gov’t income on tariffs alone because the govt doesn’t have enough control.All it would take is a retail blackout, or for foreign countries to stop selling to the US, to bankrupt the govt.
