Hello, y'all! I'm a TTRPG/Board Game illustrator with a skill set that ranges from spot art to paintings to production art and everything in between (and then some).

This was a piece I drew as a gift to give to Erika. Life has been very not nice to me the last few weeks, so getting to meet her and present this to her at the convention was an astoundingly bright ray of sunshine. She is SO kind and funny.

please, think about the damage you might cause before sending an invoice

It's time to talk about something very personal.

Receiving an invoice from a freelancer is very triggering.

There, I said it.

The thought of money leaving my account gives me distress.

That's why it can take me 6, 10, sometimes even 15 months to transfer it.

There is nothing more anxiety inducing than having to pay someone for a job they've done for you.

I once received an invoice from my gardener and immediately threw my phone into the ocean.

It's debilitating.

I wish I could pay people on time, but my emotions won't let me.

So please, if you are upset, just remember the person on the other end refusing to pay you is also a human.

And they're going through a lot.

The buff-tip moth (Phalera bucephala) has mastered a very particular kind of camouflage.

When they close their wings up, they resemble a broken twig.

Native to large parts of Europe, there's regional pattern variation that reflects the local tree species. This one best resembles birch twigs?

I had custom deck railing brackets made that were constructed with quarter inch steel and UPS managed to fuck a bunch of them up. Huge gouges and scratches and shit. Looked like they'd been run over by a truck. I was furious because the company that made them packaged them *very* well.
