It’s a story that includes a history of oppression, violence, injustice; and the history of resistance to it all, every single step of the way, from some of the bravest human beings the world has ever known. There is more hope than despair in telling this history, I wish more people could see that

For what it’s worth, I think the most impactful arguments we can make include that historical education. It does not mean things are irredeemable, it means acknowledging the whole story. And that whole story is actually more powerful.
