Met up with university friends for dinner tonight. We met 32yrs ago in our first week at university. There’s something very life affirming being with old friends. Discussing changes, transitions, life events, telling each other we haven’t changed a bit. Lovely

Like William’s The Boy I Love, Beautiful People also has a painting which has a big part. Liberty Leading the People is a painting I’ve always loved and in the book influences my protagonist. And not necessarily in the most helpful way…

So 7th book - Beautiful People - is out. People have said very nice things. (Which is up there with cake when it comes to making me smile). The book is about certain privileged folk getting away with bad behaviour, obsession, identity, and a lot of champagne. #beautifulpeople
