How can this go on for years and years and years while everyone else is held to mostly the same rules as before? Why is it that Trump and his supporters have been given a free pass to engage in the foulest behavior imaginable, whether illegality, tyranny, corruption, or simply demeaning the dead?

It’s socially rewarded to shit on Dems no matter where you are on the ideological spectrum, which is a bad situation.

which is why it's catastrophic for large segments of the public to spend hours a day in social spaces where being liberal is deemed some combination of ridiculous, naive, and contemptible. even people who agree with the underlying values will try to navigate themselves away from the perceived group
