The snow and ice (good kind) have created a fierce culture of connection in MSP - get out and have fun damn the conditions - that get you art cars, and art shanties AND protest and ICE observers and mutual aid. It's a blessedly human place and it's in my heart and mind today.

I immediately recognized the dinosaur in the pic from my time in MSP the city is chock full of joyful remnants of past puppetry, parades, festivals, happenings etc. I believe this is an art car past performance prop. It's emblematic of the mindset of the Minneapolis community and culture.

The picture describes two completely different ways of living and two visions of what safety means. In one safety means guns and keeping to you and yours. In the other safety means making art with friends and sharing it with your neighbors.
