my next plan is to see if i can draw as freely soon, i've just been so focused on knitting lately that any creative freetime i get goes straight to working through my little stash. the fixation is very real

realizing I never updated here

my EMG showed no signs of damage, no further follow up yet. it's still rather easy to overwork my hands, but gratefully beyond some stiffness i've been able to knit... mostly freely, as long as i stretch and apply some balm after

I'd also like to get back into fiber arts and share little updates about that too. I'd envisioned "amaneau" as a pseudonym to hide only my artwork behind, but, perhaps any crafting is OK too. They make me "me", after all.

Thank you for reading my aimless thoughts. 💗 Posting a doodle from July.

I hoped to return to art full-time, but my injury has taken a long enough time that I can't really afford to spend hours a day drawing anymore. Once I'm better, I'll return to a regular job. When I can draw comfortably again, I'd still like to share illustrations here and there. (4/5)

objects or work with my hands, which makes illustrating difficult. I try to rest, but I'm a restless woman, and it's a difficult balance between finding things to keep me occupied and not hurting myself. Finding hand-free hobbies has been tough. (3/5)

by a specialist for further testing. I've gotten blood work done to rule out rheumatoid arthritis (thank god), the test this month will help show if there is nerve damage & help my doctors determine what treatment I need.

Until then, while the pain comes and goes, I can't reliably grip (2/5)

ty!! i'm grateful to hear that bc linework has been historically a weak spot for me. 🥹 we'll see, last time it was this bad it took a couple months to get "normal". but i no longer work in a lumber yard so it should be faster this time? :D ty regardless!

For sure 😭 'least this sketchbook is almost full, so I can pick a better one for copics next. That's a great point with bleeding, these do blend beautifully! I saw it on my other account, still in awe of how she came out. 🙇‍♀️ And thank you, I am!

That's a fair reason to pick them!! And ooo OK, I'm glad you get it. Since I usually draw on a tiny scale, the bleed with my paper feels a little extra finnicky. I only have the warm grey sketch set, but it does cover a full value range at least! I plan on sleeping soon, but I will keep my eyes out🥰

Of course!! She had such a cool color palette, I had to! Also happy you like the hair, I'm learning to use my copics so I didn't have the most control 😱 I'm excited to see your Maya, please feel free to tag me here or my main, @carlycarmine.bsky.social !
