MV 'Clansman' in 1973 during her short stint on the #Ullapool - #Stornoway service. She was built at Aberdeen in 1964 and underwent a major refit at Troon in 1972/73 after which vehicles could "roll-on/roll-off" rather than be hoisted.

Barvas Ware comes from the village of #Barvas, in #Lewis. It was produced from the mid-19th century until about the 1930s. It was handmade, low fired, and glazed with milk. It was manufactured predominantly for the tourist market.

40 Bornesketaig, near Kilmuir in the north of #Skye, in 1970. The house was built circa 1880 and was occupied until around 1980. The person at the spinning wheel is Jonathan Macdonald, founder of the nearby Skye Museum of Island Life.
