Glenrothes Central and Thornton (Fife) by-election, first preferences:

SNP: 1439 (47.6%, -1.1)
Labour: 649 (21.5%, -6.4)
Reform UK: 541 (17.9%, new)
Lib Dem: 207 (6.9%, +2.9)
Conservative: 185 (6.1%, -5.9)

SNP elected stage TBC.

What absolutely awful news to get this morning. Christina McKelvie had been SNP MSP for Hamilton, Larkhall and Stonehouse since 2011 and previously Central Scotland from 2007. A huge loss for Holyrood.

My thoughts are with her partner and fellow MSP Keith Brown, her family, and her friends.

🌹 During the election, Labour promised to cut energy bills by £300.

🥀 Bills are now forecast to rise in January by £168 on average, since Labour got in.
