That's right. Dismantling a pro-Democracy agency that has a budget that may as well be PENNIES in our national deficit. I have first-hand experience working with NED - the support they provide artists fleeing oppressive regimes is incredible and just a small piece of their lifesaving work.

Never forget that Trump was the culmination of 40 years of stagnant wages, widening inequality, corruption, dog-whistle politics, and economic gains for the rich.

If we fail to address this, we should expect future Trumps as far as the eye can see.

"Anticipatory obedience" is something I've been struggling with as an advocate of Arts Education equity and accessibility working at a nonprofit in DC. Our programs are an important opportunity for joy, growth and expression, but changing the language we use for funding feels like bowing down.

I'm over this blatant bleeding of the public. Artists/Actors/Creators deserve to be compensated, but that's clearly not what's happening here.
