The only jars I've met with lids I can't twist off myself are ones with ridiculously big lids too large for me to grip. And then I use a butter knife to break the seal instead.

Yes isn't it funny how having experience of being that younger woman and having been in (or seen your friend/sister go through) that sort of relationship gives you an insight into what it's like. How unexpected.

I feel this on a deep level. We have to remember we did the best we could do at the time. We may know better now, but it still feels bad. Acknowledging and apologising is the best thing you can do ❤️

Yeah, if he were just asking her as a friend/colleague then I doubt he'd even see it as rejection if she said she couldn't go.

I find no matter how you explain it, some just don't get it. I have friends who know I'm autistic but get pissed off when I can't cope with an unexpected change of plans because I'm verbally articulate and normally pretty good at masking so they sort of think I can do everything else they can do

Sorry to butt in, but I find this infuriating because I was taught in my MSc something like eighteen years ago about the danger of "diagnostic overshadowing" where people with LD are made to live with untreated MH conditions because professionals say it's just part of their LD presentation. FFS
