The photo says it all. Even if he were a criminal--and he obviously wasn't--how the hell do you take an old man into freezing temps half-naked?

Unfortunately, what our president wants and fully intends to do is occupy Minneapolis--hard to see any other outcome at this point--and influence elections. He'll use any pretext at all to do it. I support nonviolence, but staying peaceful won't stop what's coming.

Tough to wrap your head around the seeming dissonance: People who support horrendous things, even atrocities, also tuck their kids into bed at night, shovel snow from their elderly neighbor's sidewalk, maybe even stop to help someone with car trouble (as long as they didn't look "other").

Part of this is theology. Jesus was a Jew who preached social justice. Protestant evangelicals usually focus less on Jesus of the gospels and much more on Paul's Christ, resurrection, and individual salvation. They're more followers of Paul than followers of Jesus.
