Writing a book of comedic essays while the world is literally, figuratively and metaphorically burning is not easy. But I’m trying. Because I hope the things I write can help people access joy when they need it, especially Black women.

Admittedly, so many things are going wrong in the world. Like SO MANY. shit is scary. And I ask myself should I still write?! And I remember my ancestors, and the answer is YES YES WRITE. SAY. SPEAK. TELL. LISTEN. So today I do.
