A baby’s immune system is ready for the hepatitis B vaccine as soon as they are born, and giving newborns the first dose vaccine within 24 hours of birth (with additional doses at 1-2 months and 6-18 months) remains the best protection against serious health problems like liver disease and cancer.

Decades of research have found that acetaminophen is safe for children when administered as recommended. Misleading claims link the medicine to autism. These false claims send a dangerous message to parents and does a disservice to autistic individuals. www.aap.org/en/news-room...

Today’s ACIP meeting promoted false claims and misguided information about vaccines. AAP will continue stepping up and working with our local, state and federal partners to make sure every child in every community continues to have access to immunizations.

The firing of the CDC’s director and subsequent resignations of CDC officials will have a direct impact on children’s health. AAP will continue to serve as a trusted partner for pediatricians and parents, sharing scientific recommendations that put the health and wellbeing of children first.

(3/3) This is a dangerous moment for our country and for the health of every family in every community. Families deserve transparency and accountability when it comes to decisions that affect their health.
