Peerless Motor Cars of Cleveland Ohio was the first company to adopt what would become the standard of automobile design, a front-mounted engine driving the rear wheels through a solid drive shaft. The Master 8 Sedan has a Continental Straight 8 engine producing 120 horsepower.

The 1932–1934 Fords are extremely popular with hot rodders. During the period after WWII, Model Bs and 18s were favored. This continued into the 1960s on a large scale. Today, the roadster and coupe are the most sought-after body styles, making unmodified examples rare.

The Willys 77 had a top speed of 65 mph, which made it a good base for equipping a racing car. A tuned-up Willys 77 achieved an average speed of 65.2 mph in the 24-hour race on the Muroc Dry Lake.

The Limited retailed for US$4,600. Buyers received goatskin upholstery, a 60 hp T-head straight-six engine, Bosch Magneto starter, running boards and room for five.

Founded in 1899 and becoming America's first preeminent luxury automaker, the Packard Motor Car Company made the most prestigious cars and best performing engines. The Packard six was the envy of motorists from 1913-1942.

The one that started the American/car relationship. Built from 1908 to 1927 it was able to be bought for under $300 in 1924. Can still be found on American roads today.

1916 Studebaker Speedster. In a switch from electric horseless carriages to a gasoline engine, the vehicle could be had with a 4 or 6 cylinder engine.

The Dodge 30 35 had a 35 horsepower engine in comparison to the Model T that had a 20hp engine. A stronger transmission also made the Dodge a luxury car compared to the Ford. Made from 1914-1916.

1921 DUESENBERG MODEL A - first production car with hydraulic brakes and a straight 8 engine. Manufactured in Indianapolis from 1921-1926.

Duryea Motor Wagon Company built thirteen identical vehicles in 1896 and is recorded as winning the first American car race of 54 miles by 75minutes.
