Where the hell is he directing them to go? The Berghoff?

My dog and I stayed a night in Winnemucca, NV, a land of big rigs, fast food and insistent sex workers. At Motel 6, our fellow guests were smoking meth like it was a competitive sport and loudly celebrating their victories all night long. We nodded to the not so distant sounds of parking lot fights.

Argh! In 1999, I was tending bar across the street from Wrigley Field and the owner demanded we play this album every single night. Any time I hear this stuff, I'm transported back to 13 hour shifts serving drunken suburbanite Cubs fans. Otherwise, I'd probably still like it.

This CD has a cover of the Didjits' "Killboy Powerhead" from their excellent 1990 LP Hornet Pinata. Didjit Rick Sims wrote the song and made enough in royalties to buy a house in Chicago. Also, my wretched first band opened for them in 1991 and it was a mortifying disaster (for us, not them).

I'm a White Sox fan. I haven't existed since 2005.

The first shipments of the records to stores were scratched badly by the zipper. They fixed the problem by pulling the zipper halfway down (so it was over the label and not the grooves) for subsequent shipments. Fantastic record!

Neil let us know yesterday that Trump is Obama's fault, so please stop castigating the valiant mainstream media. Did you know that Neil once reported from the front lines of an Aldi? I hesitate to use the word "hero", but sometimes it's the only one that applies.

I knew Sean a little bit, too. He was a cool cat. I'll send you that pic when I get home this afternoon.

I thought about the Pope when the news was announced yesterday. Hey, I think I have a copy of Surgery's "Souleater" that belonged to you. There's a press kit and a note from Sean McD to "Tim" in the sleeve.

So you're looking at the silver lining here.

I lived two blocks from that bar (Phyllis' Musical Inn) for many years, and wish I'd never left. Now I live in SF and those Tesla Suckermobiles are like an invasive species.

We're tuning into the aftershow to catch the Magnum 442 Honeybuns reunion. I've been waiting over 30 years for this gig!

It hits different on the West side of San Francisco, too. I haven't left my house without a jacket and hoodie since 2005.
