I’m running for Congress because District 2 deserves a fighter. Someone who answers to the people, not corporate donors or PACs. Someone who will show up, speak out, and refuse to sell us out or bend to the will of Republicans.

I do not lightly encourage folks watch the recording of a murder. But, the video from today's tragedy could not be more obvious and important to see now that Kristi Noem has announced they'll investigate themselves.

Honored to be featured in @devex.com this week, in an article highlighting former aid workers stepping up to run for office. The irony is that dismantling this work didn’t silence us. It mobilized a generation of professionals who know how to lead in moments of crisis.

Today, on MLK Jr. Day, I reflected on the many gifts Dr. King left us. One that feels particularly important right now is his demonstration of grit and strength in the face of adversity and persecution.

I’ve always been drawn to public service, to the idea that showing up for your community and country matters. But I never imagined, never in a thousand years, that it would lead me here, running for Congressional office to represent Florida.
