Every song is a relentless onslaught of riffs that are played with such precision & clarity despite the overall aesthetic & atmospheric feeling so deliciously dank. The vocals are slobbering, guttural, hissing, and Gollum-esque at their inhuman heights. The drum work is a precise engine there to enhance & support the guitar assault. Am I in Trouble? - Spectrum FFO- Progressive Black Metal, Blackgaze, Avant Garde Metal Am I In Trouble is a band that swings for the fences at their very first at-bat and knocks it out of the park. Calling this album almost any genre feels like it leaves something out that fits the album. So let's go with Avant Garde Metal for now while adding that the style you'll probably hear most throughout is some form of Black Metal. Every song on this album is named after a color and that color for the song is meant to represent a feeling, a location, or an idea involving that color. It's Blackened, it's Doomy, It's Oddball, it's a real sense of how colors and emotions are tied hand in hand.

One of my favorite, albeit less drastic, things that @imrryr.com did on Obsidian

Changing the drums in the prechorus of Black to a half-time feel, rather than the original blast-beats and punky beats.

Makes @loachy16.bsky.social's vocals feel extra CRUSHING

I love that Garry blatantly calls this vocal part his "Vortex vocals".

I felt the same way with my clean vocals in Pink, as "Lazare vocals".

Sometimes it's fun to just earnestly try to capture the same energy and sound as another musician you admire.
