It pulls more relevant papers now, but often invents interpretations not in them. When pressed for quotes, it admits making things up. Feels more dangerous than the old nonsense …because it sounds right when it’s not 😨

🚨guess i solved climate change by turning off my unread emails notification

They could just tell various businesses to stop inundating peoples email boxes with junk…

Did you know that we know less about the sea than we do about space? With this comic, we explore some of what scientists do know about Earth's ocean.

Yes, very familiar. However, every time I was ‘scolded’ for refusing to do something clearly outside my job description, it was always by a senior woman. When I share my frustration about being asked, the men usually show support, any data on that or is it just me?

Please come chat with “The Expert” —aka me —today @ #UNOC3 green zone the deep blue pavilion @ noon! We are having fun over here 😅
Attendees observe and discuss a deep ARGO float, an oceanographic instrument, on display at an exhibition booth labeled “Explorers of the Deep – Pioneers of Discovery.” A man in a red shirt explains the device to amina schartup’s daughter-sonia, while others nearby film or engage with the exhibit. A wall behind them displays portraits of featured explorers, including amina :) A group of people gathers around a speaker holding colorful 3D printed maps at an indoor event with blue walls and informational posters. One man stands on a bench to take a photo of the group with his phone. The setting is a science/outreach exhibition, with an engaged audience and busy background activity.

Love a 🧪 time series!
obialik.bsky.social
One of the cool things about sustained scientific programs is time series, where we can see how things wax and wane over time. We've been collecting data on Mars long enough to do that for one of its most interesting climatic features - planetary dust storms. 🧪
www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...
Daytime zonal mean column dust optical depth (CDOD at 9.3 μm) during the dusty perihelion season for MY 24 to MY 36. MY 24–26 and MY 28–36 are obtained from TES observations and from the integration of MCS profiles, respectively and normalized to 610 Pa. Contours are used to better define the regional dust storms. (The 0.2 contour has been used to define the change in the amount of dust in the atmosphere due to the storm and the 0.3 contour to describe the extent.)

Okay, the only time gendered bathrooms made sense to me was the trench-style ones i used in China…but even then, there’s no hiding. Everyone’s lined up, and you can see for yourself… everything…
aminaschartup.bsky.social
America’s obsession with gendered bathrooms is baffling. In most places I’ve lived, you’re just grateful for a clean public restroom, rarely gendered. I went through 17 years of school (across 3 countries) without ever using a gendered bathroom…
aminaschartup.bsky.social
This is so unhinged. What kind of sick person calls security on someone just using a restroom?
