After 9 years of managing the video game section of a tech/lifestyle blog, today I was laid off. They literally said in my face that "in the age of AI there's no need for this type of content". More than anything I'm concerned for the handful of freelancers who are living off this blog.

I can't believe this. The entire Game Informer website has been taken down. All those features, all those reviews, perfectly designed hubs for featured games with priceless interviews. All down. All gone. Those incredible Blake Hester travel logs. Years' worth of journalism gone. Fuck capitalism.
