I was an editor on the Ulysses S. Grant Papers when we did extensive research in the Congressional testimony you mention, quoting parts in connection with letters and other documents. The testimony was dramatic and heartbreaking.

I work in an archive that includes many Henry Miller letters and even some of his art and it’s a privilege to help preserve it.
