i think, for the K'areshi, food is about ritual rather than sustenance. but I'm sure with the vast array of ingredients available to them, they could make edible food for visitors (and they would see creating good and edible food as lucrative to encourage returning customers)

from the lore book found in phase diving, Checklist of Minor Pleasures:
"That feeling when waking, where each of your senses come back one by one as you drift into consciousness. Though it is at this moment when I miss the sensation of taste and feeling of eating the most."

they don't eat, according to the lore tidbits, they can only smell things (and a few NPCs discuss searching for unique or pleasant smells), and cannot taste nor ingest anything (though I believe they must absorb energy in a pure form to survive)

i was hoping more for leaning into The Thing-esque themes with her rather than another alien race that is very human in appearance. an alien using a meat puppet to manipulate/infiltrate rather than what we got.

here's where you might have seen it, the Arathi have staves with this symbol atop them (minus the bottom point):

Arathi Abbot's Greatstaff
This epic staff has an item level of 610. It is looted and sold by NPCs. In the Staves category. Added in World of Warcraft: The War Within.

true, I'm quite interested in anything more we learn about her origins if we ever do. I don't think she was originally from K'aresh though, given the implications of the dialogue in the video

it's reminiscent of the emblem used by the K'aresh Trust

ctrl + f5 worked to stop it for me (I also restarted my router so might be the combination of both?)

(I'm not excusing anything done, just adding additional context as to its origins and that it's not a good look for the set designers who chose it)
February 1, 2026 at 12:29 AM
length on the topic since it's not an area of expertise for me, but it could either be an extremely specific choice by those who did the set design, or they may have just googled something random like "magic sigil" and just pulled from what popped up and added some astrological signs at the points
February 1, 2026 at 12:29 AM
looking at the photo you posted it appears to be a modification of the "2nd pentacle of Jupiter" which is a sigil from the Key of Solomon (an occult book written around the 14th or 15th centuries--so an era rife with antisemitism when hebrew was often used in occultism and magic). I won't speak at

yep that's it, I couldn't think of the name so I had to log into my toon who had a copy in her bank

google and wiki are very useless for some reason (they don't have it listed on the Steamy Romance Novel pages), but the book is called "A Steamy Romance Novel: Devouring Love"
