Scottish schools have been told they must provide separate toilets for boys and girls on the basis of biological sex.

School had previously been told that pupils could use whatever toilet they felt most comfortable in.

We hated Keir Starmer's proposed mandatory digital ID cards already. But for trans and non-binary people this could mark a dangerous escalation in the erosion of their human rights to privacy and be used to stop them using toilets.

In the aftermath of the earthward in Afghanistan injured women and girls are facing a dire lack of medical care.

Taliban restrictions mean they cannot travel to hospital, receive treatment from male doctors, or in some cases even accept help from strangers.

🖥️ AI learns from data filled with stereotypes that reinforce gender biases

💧 AI computer servers use immense amounts of energy to operate and water to keep cool

🥵 AI contributes to the climate emergency, which disproportionately affects women and girls

We clicked on this story thinking a nine-year-old girl had joined a dangerous gang and was out there shooting people.

But no. She was eating ice-cream in a restaurant with her family when a man burst in and shot her in the head.

Yet again male violence is missing from a headline. Do better BBC.

Reform MP Sarah Pochin called on Sir Keir Starmer to ban burqas during Prime Minister's Questions yesterday.
