I can hear someone with a leaf blower out in the small wind storm we have going on, leaves are fluttering all over, and really gets me wondering what their line of thinking of is here. It’s just so noisy… 😅😭

I'm really pleased to have made some nice gluten-free corn bread! Gluten turned out to be the cause for some skin conditions and some other issues, I feel way better cutting it out but I love it so much. Pastries are so hard to completely avoid when gluten free ones tend to completely miss the mark.

Man.. Been trying to get some herbs to grow, figure they needed more sun, so moved them in a slightly larger container to the very edge of a share balcony. Saw them moved to the yard today. Got in the crossfire of one neighbour's resentment to another, where she cited "fire code" as an excuse.

Still always strikes me as odd when I see artists who copy/trace official works for their art get up in arms over others doing it to them. If they’re tracing or modifying screenshots how is that different? There is some strange disconnect in what they do vs what others did.

Been practicing painting and learning more about using a wet palette. I want to get good at painting smoothly with nice transitions, without having an airbrush at this point. On the cheap just using paper towels and parchment paper to start:

Oof... Despite staying hydrated, protecting my eyes and trying to stay in the shade I still got a bad case of heat stroke the other day. Riding in a car for a stretch of time without AC did quite a number. Took a few days to recover, still feeling super drained!

I’ve learned a lot about car batteries, jump starters and chargers today! Doing research to help the parents out. Been a very disheveled day where things didn’t work out but I am super grateful to have such a nice community of helpful neighbours! It’s heartening how they came together.

Positive stuff this weekend is someone spotted a yellow bellied marmot wandering nearby, munching on grass. That is rather rare and I love how it seems like gradually we've been seeing more and more animals over the years. Hopefully it means they're doing well, not just being pushed this way.

Been reading about the amounts of lead, cadmium and even arsenic contained within the plastic of our childhood toys and uh... hahah..

I kinda struggle with Wheel of Time and its packed roster of moping main characters. It’s not like they shouldn’t be impacted, it just feels a bit much when each one is so sorry for themselves and then feeling so guilty about everything. Was it like this in the books? 🤷

So far the cost has been keeping me from trying out Monster Hunter Wilds. I've loved big open world style games since Shadow of the Colossus and have been keen on trying out MH for some time. Something that gets me about this one from what I'm seeing though is how much it's trying to hold your hand.

I was so impressed with how well these guys survived the snow and cold, I had gifted them to my neighbour after some of his had died out from the last cold snap. Glad these ones are holding out! The colours are so much more vibrant than in the summer too. Full sun is too much for them.

Been waiting to get these paints for a while now! Got a range to start with, was hard to settle but I was going for what you tend to get with a standard starter set. Would branch out further into some more orange, browns and greens I think to save paint but anything I really need could be mixed.

I read that Stargazer Lilies are hypoallergenic and yet they trigger a major hayfever reaction out of me. It seems like it's something about the strong scent? Lots of congestion to the point of migraines, I end up having to trim off the anthers to have some peace. 😖

Through an elimination diet I learned that potatoes trigger increased chronic pain for me which can come from them being in the nightshade family, tomatoes affect me a bit too. It’s just sometimes I’ll a see a picture of delicious looking food and it’s got potatoes. Man do I miss em!

Tried making mochi muffins for the first time, matcha flavour. I was worried as it’s hard to tell doneness with the green but I think they turned out well! Tasty but also so filling. These are just the mini ones, also made a batch of full sized muffins.

Tried to make it up to her by spending time outside. We were out there for an hour roaming around, sitting in the sun, playing with stray twiggy branches. Had to stop her from climbing a tree, she was having fun zooming around the yard.
