I live, work, play, write and make good trouble in New Orleans.
I think they are all just imitating each other. They don’t read those books!!

One of the best examples I’ve ever seen of how the humanities and the sciences can interact to illuminate and inform one another. Science and art aren’t enemies; they are best friends.

Let’s embrace fandom as a worthy pursuit and a great way to express love for any given art form—the arts needs fans just as much if not more than it needs more artists! Be a reader, be a listener, be a watcher, be an appreciator!

What a sad puppy Mike Johnson is. I don’t feel sorry for anyone who enables evil, but when we elect reps who have never had to face a credible opponent, we get MJ, who waltzed into his seat with no experience, no competence, no challenger, and now he’s the 3rd most powerful person in our country.

Q: Why is it so hard to find good educational leaders in Louisiana? A: Because we have been miseducating our citizens for so long, and it’s such a terrible state to work in, the combination has left us with only the worst, most toxic, peripatetic leaders to choose from.

James Carville will run the campaign, debuting the new slogan, “MOWGDRA.” It stands for “Make Old White Guy Democrats Relevant Again.”

Bitch McConnell is just scared he’s going to hell with his old ass. He can never undo the damage he’s done to our country.

I’m convinced he’s the same person as Andrew Cuomo. Has anyone seen them together in the same place? If they would just go away peacefully, we won’t have to use violence.

Yesterday I had a good time protesting ICE in New Orleans. I love chanting SHUT IT DOWN! The people could bring commerce and government to its knees in a few days of shutting down airports, businesses, schools—any place at all really. It’s not illegal for lots of people to drive places.

More of this kind of disruption. Let’s disrupt airports, highways, military barracks, the White House. Any place that will send this corrupt regime the message that we won’t allow them to destroy our democracy. It’s not illegal for a bunch of people to drive their cars to places.

I respect Mark Kelly, but I remain amazed that seemingly intelligent people are motivated to waste good spit and air, not to mention precious mouth muscles, on talking about Trump as if he is capable of listening, reflecting, changing, growing, or caring.

The orange in the map doesn’t just represent people dying young. The orange represents the kind of world the Civil War was fought to preserve—an oligarchy of wealthy whites while everybody else gets nothing. It’s appropriately colored orange because this is the same ole shit in an orange bag.

Here in New Orleans we have been doing the work of holding our “all charter” district accountable—an uphill battle but #wekeepshowingup. Has there been a call for proposals for the conference yet? Public school advocates want to share what we’ve learned from 20 years of charter schools in NOLA.

I realize that you ask a rhetorical question. But I have a nonrhetorical answer: I want people (and by people I do mean the Democratic Party of Louisiana) to find a better Repub and primary the fuck out of him. #bestworststate
