Do better with this than you did last go round when you caved so hard you left a crater. Hopefully it isn't already too late.

The other thing with this is the "Buttigieg" effect. The number of people that won't vote for a candidate they like because they fear that their neighbor won't becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy and we end up with middle of the road candidates that still lose.

If Martha Stewart can go to jail for less, so should everyone involved in this!

Let's be generous and say that 50% of your job should be informing the people of what is going on. So the other half should be you *doing something* about it. Some small slice of that half it can be letting us know specifically what we can do too, but either actually lead or get out of the way.

Remember all those times our rivers weren't on fire due to decreased waterway pollution too?
It also happens with kids in schools. Look! S/he is successful now, let's remove the supports they have been achieving those successes with!

I mean, if we hadn't built up all these social, scientific, education, and safety net programs and institutions over the last decades in the first place we wouldn't be upset over their catastrophic dismantling over the last three months, right?

Fantastic volunteers from the Federation of Social Workers have arranged shuttles from the First Unitarian on Winton Rd. and Third Presbyterian on East Ave., both have offered their parking lots!

Parking update for Saturday’s Hands Off rally: We recommend carpooling! It looks like we’ll be able to designate a few handicapped spots onsite and set aside an area on the grass for wheelchairs. There is parking in the neighborhoods, and RTS and ride-hailing apps are options.

Gross. Instead of making it about you, just amplify his message.
If you're going to ride on coat tails, you might as well step aside and let someone else do the leading.

Thank you for (literally) standing up and trying to do something. Successful or not in the end, you have tried something!

That's fine. Now resign from Democratic party leadership and show up with your hat in hand and tail between your legs at an April 5 protest and then go back to the Senate and *do* something to defend us.

Can you convince Schumer of this? He is my senator but his phone lines are down so I "mysteriously" can't call him to voice my opinion.

They're going to do it anyway. You haven't stopped them so far. Stop rolling over at every opportunity and come up with an actual plan to fight back.

I called and left a message. Schumer's lines all seem to be unavailable.

Dems need a plan to mitigate the fallout of a No vote so they CAN vote no. Spend whatever political capital you all have, it's going to be useless in 2 years otherwise. Reps block at every opportunity. Do the same now.

Vote no. You need a plan to be able to do so. Voting yes gains you nothing. Voting no is going to be weaponized against you. So figure out a way to counteract the weaponization of a shutdown so you can vote no. Stand up for what's right instead of wishing things will be ok later (they won't).
