I don't think I've had a yellow one, but I have grown a red.

The fruit of the Peruvian apple cactus looks similar and is also edible, but I leave them for the birds.

🌱 I started on Sunday the process to turn the Hachiya persimmons my neighbor gave to me into hoshigaki. I have five total on the rack.

🤞🏼 I get one or two that make it.

🌱 I think I forgot to share that my Selenicereus grandiflorus produced a fruit. Mildly sweet and refreshing, like dragon fruit. Those spines are something, though. 😬

🌱 My pansy and viola seed order arrived from Three Brothers Blooms. Look at the adorable pup in the thank you card! 😍 Very pretty seed packets. Can't wait to grow these.

🌱 My neighbor just delivered a bag of hachiya persimmons from his yard. 🤗 He kindly leaves the stems attached for me so that I can dry them for hoshigaki. Can't decide whether the two ripe ones will become persimmon bread or persimmon and walnut ice cream. 😋

🌱 Making wreath forms from the material I'm cutting back during long overdue garden clean up. I like making my own forms from material that would otherwise go into the compost pile. They are thin but hold up well.

🌱 A small but good harvest. I found the eggplants while doing some garden clean up. Also, very happy to find I managed to save three pomegranates from the squirrels. I wrap them in brown lunch bags when the fruit begins to form and then 🤞🏼 and wait. 🐿

🌱 My garden flowers are winding down, but I managed to make myself a little posy.

Oh, my. Well done! 👏🏼

Behold my massive harvest! 😬😂

🌱 Potting up day for this crew. Interesting how spotty the germination was, even within the same seed packets (snapdragons). The Vintage Brown and Lavender Blue stock are a bust. 🙁

@joyf.bsky.social 🌱 Look what arrived! 🤗 Looking forward to getting these in the soil and Barbie pink blooms in spring.

Sorry for the low quality. I took this photo through my kitchen window. This friend would sit on my driveway gate each early morning before flying off.

Drove down to Baja California for some much needed time off.

Good night. Rest well.

#NoKings rally kicking off in Pasadena, CA, earlier today. Good turnout. I didn't take many photos because I was holding a very large American flag. 🇺🇸💪🏼

🌱 First time ordering from Songbird Seed company, and am enamored with their seed packets! 😍 I purchased two 'Juliet' and one 'Our Harry.'

🌱 More Halloween silliness. These are for the office Halloween potluck. The basil is from my garden.

How did I miss seeing this 🤔 Your tomatoes look great. I had a rather sad tomato season.

Can you tell me the name of the tomatoes I circled in your photo?

🌱 This week's #SixOnSaturday in a vase. This is for my friend to celebrate her birthday.

🌱 My esthetician threw a little party to celebrate 13 years in business. I always talk about my garden when I see her, so I made her a little posy as a gift for taking care of me and my skin for the last ten years. Many small businesses didn't survive Covid. So glad hers did.
