Retired teacher. I will post a few things and read lots. Not interested in arguing though it has been pointed out to me that I foolishly rise to the bait sometimes. 🌻
I read as Boris had defected! Nearly tipped my tea all over the place!

Same thoughts in the UK too.

That was the most chilling interview I've seen. Bovino smirked all the way through it safe in the knowledge that he will be protected by the government. Very 1930s German uniform the man wears. Very fitting!

He seems like the sort of man who needs a uniform to make him feel masculine. That uniform is very 1930s Germany.

I wouldn't mind Burnham as leader but had he gone for it we would have a year of 'when is he going to stab Starmer in the back?' from all of the media including the BBC. It destroyed the Tories and would do the same to Labour. Burnham must know this too.

Oh my life! That is so immoral! No shame.

That interview with Bovino on CNN was the most chilling thing I've seen. He smirked all the way though it knowing that the government will protect him.

His interview on CNN an hour ago was the most chilling thing I've seen. Lies, lies man's more lies. All with a sadistic smile on his face! Terrifying.
January 25, 2026 at 3:58 PM
Mind you, you never know but he might wear a thong under that tough guy uniform!
January 25, 2026 at 3:40 PM
Sorry, 'chilling thing.' That sound a bit grubby!

The interview on CNN at this moment with the leader of ICE is the most chilling thong I've seen. It's like watching an SS officer defending gestapo tactics.

I think he knows that months of Burnham trying to become leader would give the right wing press all the ammunition it needs to cause all sorts of damage. Have we learned nothing from the mess that the Tories got into?
January 25, 2026 at 2:19 PM
There are no winners in this situation. There are more important things than personal ambition. Burnham is very good but his assumption that he should replace Starmer is arrogant.

No winners in this one! When will we ever learn that divided parties always lose.
January 25, 2026 at 1:29 PM
It might be worth mentioning it. I'm old and I'm sure I make comments that are not ok and I would definitely want my daughter to tell me kindly.

Great! So now we are in for years of infighting in the party with the right wing press making trouble at every turn. How is that good?

Carney has intelligence and excellent manners. Trump has neither. That is making Trump mad!

He is a bit slow on the uptake! But he keeps saying how intelligent he is eventhough no one takes note.

I feel that Trump must have had bad news healthwise and is hitting out at anyone who makes him look irrelevant.

It's an enormous gamble for Andy Burnham that is not guaranteed to end well for him. He's very likable but does he really want to go down the road of constant snipping at Starmer and the damage it will do to Labour? No winners here.
