So I've been down a #heatedrivalry rabbit hole since Saturday.

It's sooo good and I'm obsessed!

As a reader of queer romances for years, this is such a welcome development

With the state of the world right now we need more #queerjoy

Inspired by the power of popular culture for representation

I don’t feel like *celebrating* Women’s Day. Make every day women’s Day where ALL women are given equal rights, agency,, choices, safety, respect, recognition. Do not tick boxes on one day. Do not use it to sell things. Do not pretend to be an ally but stay silent. Do it all EVERY SINGLE DAY.

I really enjoyed the inaugural National Humanities Lecture tonight. Delivered by the always inspiring @davidolusoga.bsky.social it gave me hope that all was not lost as long as we keep speaking up ✊🏻

Tonight I attended my first @histfest.bsky.social Book Club
and I really enjoyed it! We discussed @catjarman.bsky.social fascinating River Kings 👑

It’s a book that’s been on my TBR pile for a while so this was a great incentive to finally read it. A great example of creative non fiction

In an effort to develop myself outside of my “career”, I attended a taster session in creative non fiction tonight. A simple intro task to write about an object that has meaning inspired me and the words just flowed. I shared my writing nervously and to my surprise it was well received

Amy Neal (linktr.ee/amy_neal) gave a brilliant session for the Curious Descendants on how to use period dramas to help write #FamilyHistory. What shows have sparked your interest in a period or topic? #Genealogy
This obituary for the award-winning costume designer of Peaky Blinders, Stephanie Collie, is a wonderful tribute to her research process and skill. It’s easy to criticise costumes in TV historical dramas, but historical inaccuracies are rarely errors, they’re often storytelling choices

I absolutely loved the Crab Museum, Margate.

It’s everything a museum should be - informative, engaging and most importantly political.

Traditional museums should take note on what can be achieved if you have fun and stick to your principles…

Also it’s Instagram is 🤌 highly recommend a follow
