What is life right now. I’ve been a little obsessed with a certain color combo lately - going to be selling some of these soon!

Exploring shapes, questioning originality.

I believe it’s rare for art or design to be of complete original thought - with that being said. I don’t seek out and stare at all of the similar work by Matisse. These studies for me are an exercise in form, restraint, and negative space on a page.

New series - an experimentation in some mental editing and allowing the markings on paper being purposeful.

I woke up today wanting a diner breakfast. Not just a weekend diner breakfast, but the kind where you know the next couple of days you don’t have to worry about anything. A good solid Vacation Breakfast.

I am a little melted couch with my face in a square little frame.
The shelving boards have dips where books too heavy wear them down.

PNW winter seasons consist of lots of jazz festivals for schools. Most of them are open to the public - gentle reminder that participating in music for many of these students enables them to find themselves, find their people, and figure out what life is. Support local creativity when you see it!

“Firebird”
This illustration was always one drawn with whimsy. It was full of play and possibility. Color was done with exploration and with less emotional attachment - recently when I look at this now, it layers in emotions and issues. I can’t wrap my brain around all that’s swirling around

@washingtonstatestandard.com this is serious business! ‼️🚫🛑⚠️ Do something about it! This is a shared snippet of what is being asked to keep those silenced in order to preserve funding. It sets up the potential to escalate to something even greater and more deeply concerning.

Artwork sharing on this platform (or any social media) is a funny thing. It’s a little bit like chasing dopamine, opening yourself up to criticism in an arena setting - hoping that somehow against whatever odds you find something that strikes a chord.

The Shape of Sound

It crashes, it rolls, it’s delicate, and wild.

What kind of music does this piece remind you of?

I love dogs, making patterns and other illustrations in my free time. And eventually will add to my Etsy!
