I only need to state one simple thing to debunk this clock. During the height of the cold war in 1960, it was at 7 minutes to midnight, which is also where it was in 1962 during the cuban missile crisis. So they're trying to tell me that geopolitics is less stable now than 1962.

for instance claiming that after the russian invasion of ukraine, that germany turned to coal...you look at the energy mix statistics and it didn't, maybe their energy transition would have been faster without the war, but coal hasn't increased in usage, it has declined every year since the war.

I had this argument a few times with my pro-nuclear geography teacher, and I'm not hostile to nuclear, it just can't be built quickly enough to help with the immediate problems we face. And he's stuck with a rather old view of how renewable energy works. Also, he states his presumptions as fact

I’ve had Americans complain that I don’t talk about Trump enough and then when I say what I think about their government, they act like I’m attacking them individually for suggesting the world won’t trust America for decades even if they oust Trump…like, I can’t win with people with that mentality.

European farmers claimed there was a war on milk and got the EU to ban alternative milks from calling themselves milk…afaict though it hasn’t really harmed either side’s profits, the alternative milk market is continuing to grow and now sits at 1% the tonnage per year of dairy milk.
