Last month I read a great book that covers this very overlap, albeit not restricted to the Late Hellenistic Age: The Greeks And The Irrational, by E. R. Dodds.

This is such an obvious error, and one that will hurt Labour badly at the next General Election, when they are abandoned by much of their traditional voter base. Stupid.

Our son is still largely pre-verbal, but Enabling Communication in Children with Autism by Carol Potter and Chris Whittaker was a very helpful book explaining how to encourage different forms of communication.

Thank you for this important thread. My personal experience is coming from a different angle - as the parent of an autistic son. Neurotribes by Steve Silberman was one of the books that helped us to orient ourselves in this different world, as was The Autistic Brain by Temple Grandin.
